Mandy and Maria were co-workers who had one thing in common -- they hated their boring dead-end job and wanted to get away to exciting, exotic locales. Together, the quit their jobs and embarked on an adventure to country that looked like it was stuck in the Middle Ages.
In a way, it was stuck in the Middle Ages as Mandy and Maria would learn. While touring the countryside, the womens' car breaks down and they approach a nearby monastery for help. They quickly learn that this particular monastery never abandoned the Inquisition.
The women are accused of being heretics and questioned by the ecclesiastical authority. Once they were convicted of their particular forms of heresy, they were transferred to the civil authorities for sentencing.
