The story is:
Jacquelyn and Lanea were young, temporary census workers assigned to canvass a remote, rural area that was historically prone to undercounts as the local backwoods population was suspicious of outsiders, particularly 'government workers.' The women were utterly alien to the community.
Their assignment made a turn for the worse when Lanea went out alone to canvass an area known to be dangerous. When she made a panic-stricken call to Jacquelyn for rescue, both women became entangled in a backwoods horror involving two brothers, their hag of a mother and neighbors who were invited to meet the government workers and be counted.
This story documents the details of their ordeal.
