Then the last third of the story unfolded. Even now, almost a day after reading it, the dark twist still nags in the corner of my mind. Its not bad, in fact its excellently scripted and plays out well. But I guess the eroticism of the final act was over-ridden by my compassionate side. Not a switch I have encountered very often.
Perhaps it caught me in an odd mood. Either way it certainly deserves another read and I recommend it to the general DoFantasy readership.
And for the record, no nip rings, but I guess you can't have everything!
